We are currently seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to support the management of daily branch operations and contribute to the efficient, safe, and profitable performance of the business. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated operations professional looking to grow into a senior leadership position within the organization.
About the Role
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager plays a key role in supporting branch operations, fleet and asset management, workforce coordination, customer service, and administrative functions. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams to ensure resources are effectively managed while maintaining compliance with company policies, SHEQ standards, and business objectives.
The Assistant Branch Manager will act as a leadership resource for employees and customers and may assume responsibility for branch operations in the absence of the Branch Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Resource Management
- Support the daily planning and coordination of personnel, equipment, and operational activities.
- Assist with equipment scheduling, mobilizations, demobilizations, and project execution.
- Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with Sales, Fleet, Planning, and Operations teams to meet customer requirements.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all SHEQ policies and procedures.
- Participate in safety meetings, inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
- Support the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Ensure all operational activities comply with applicable legislation and company standards.
Fleet & Asset Management
- Assist in monitoring fleet utilization and equipment availability.
- Coordinate maintenance scheduling and equipment inspections.
- Support inventory control and branch asset management.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime.
Administrative & Financial Support
- Review operational documentation, time records, and supporting reports for accuracy.
- Assist with budget monitoring, cost control initiatives, and operational reporting.
- Support invoicing processes and ensure timely completion of required documentation.
- Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports as required.
Customer Service & Business Support
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and contractors.
- Assist in resolving customer concerns and operational issues.
- Support quotation preparation, project planning, and business development initiatives.
- Contribute to achieving branch performance and profitability targets.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to branch personnel.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and employee development initiatives.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment and workforce planning activities when required.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in operations, logistics, transportation, construction, heavy equipment, or a related industrial environment.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
Preferred
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience within the crane, heavy lifting, transportation, or industrial services industry.

Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
