Application question(s):
- Can you walk me through the process from contract review to work order (WO) release for a part in an AS9100-certified machine shop?
- What industries and material types have you planned for — aerospace, defence, medical, general? Roughly what tolerances and lot sizes do you live in day to day?
- Which ERP / MES systems have you built routers in, and what did you own inside them — just entering operations, or also work centers, standards, and costing?
- How do you decide what belongs in one operation versus splitting across setups or machines? What drives the trade-off?
- How do you create stage (operation-wise) drawings? Do you drive them from the finished model, and how do you show in-process stock, datums, and dimensions the operator actually needs?
- Tell me about a time a part was scrapping on the floor and the operator was blocked. How did you get to root cause, and what did you change so it didn't come back?
Experience:
- aerospace machine shop: 8 years (required)
- SolidWorks: 2 years (required)
- CNC programming: 2 years (required)
