Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and professional Paralegal Assistant to join our growing legal team in Brampton. The successful candidate will assist with a variety of legal matters, including traffic tickets, Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) matters, Small Claims Court files, demand letters, and general legal administration.
Responsibilities
- Draft legal correspondence, demand letters, and court documents.
- Assist with Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) applications and hearings.
- Prepare and organize client files and legal records.
- Communicate with clients, courts, tribunals, and government agencies.
- Schedule appointments and maintain calendars.
- Conduct legal research and document review.
- Manage emails, phone calls, and client intake.
- Assist licensed paralegals with case preparation and file management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a paralegal or legal assistant role.
- Knowledge of Ontario legal procedures, especially LTB and Small Claims Court matters.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with legal software and online filing systems is an asset.
- Possession of a valid Ontario Paralegal Licence is considered a strong asset and will be given preference; however, licensed candidates are not required to apply.
