Job Summary:
- Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures and consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health;
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments;
- Perform and assist in routine surgery;
- Provide emergency care;
- Provide acute care management;
- Vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases;
- Deliver babies and provide pre-natal and post-natal care;
- Advise patients and their families on health care including health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention;
- Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues;
- Perform patient advocacy role;
- Coordinate or manage primary patient care;
- Provide continuous care to patients;
- Supervise home care services;
- Report births, deaths, and contagious and other diseases to governmental authorities.
Requirements:
· Minimum work experience: 5 years or more;
· Medical degree (MD) from an accredited institution;
· Completion of residency training program in Family Medicine;
· Must be registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario;
· Certification by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) preferred;
· Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, and knowledge of best practices in primary care medicine;
· Commitment to ongoing learning and participation in continuing medical education (CME) programs;
· Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
· Hands-on experience in both primary care and urgent care settings;
· Experience in managing chronic diseases, supervising multidisciplinary teams, and providing palliative care will be considered strong assets.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care;
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to manage time effectively;
· Fluency in English is required.
Compensation:
- The position is compensated on a fee-for-service basis, with all billings submitted through the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). The physician will receive 80% of total billings, while the clinic retains 20% to cover administrative and operational support. The working hours are anticipated to be approximately 15–20 hours per week.
- Based on the clinic's current patient volume and billing structure, the anticipated earnings for this position are approximately $20,000–$25,000 per month, depending on patient volume and practice activity. The physician is expected to see approximately 80–100 patients during the anticipated weekly schedule of 15–20 hours. The clinic provides full administrative, billing, scheduling, and Electronic Medical Records ("EMR") support.
This compensation structure aligns with standard medical practice in Ontario.
Pay: $20,000.00-$25,000.00 per month
