The Role
Job Title: Distribution Business Manager

Reporting To: Sales Manager
As a Distribution Business Manager, you will play an important role in supporting BBE’s operations and customer commitments. This position requires sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt as conditions change.
This role owns the assigned distribution business end-to-end, balancing commercial growth, customer account management, manufacturer relationships, procurement, order fulfillment, and logistics. You are responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, supporting sales growth, managing key accounts, coordinating with manufacturers and suppliers, and ensuring accurate, timely, and cost-effective delivery to customers. This position requires strong product knowledge, a customer-focused sales mindset, and operational discipline to ensure the business remains profitable, responsive, compliant, and well supported throughout the full distribution lifecycle. You will work closely with internal teams, customers, and partners to ensure work is completed accurately, safely, and on time.
What You’ll Do

Act as the primary owner and subject matter expert for assigned distribution product categories.

Develop and execute account plans for existing and prospective customers to grow sales, protect margins, identify new opportunities, and increase share of wallet across assigned product lines.

Serve as the main commercial contact for customers, responding to inquiries, preparing quotes, supporting contract discussions, resolving service issues, and maintaining regular business reviews.

Manage relationships with manufacturers and suppliers, including product updates, pricing alignment, training, promotional activity, supply planning, issue resolution, and ongoing partnership performance.

Analyze customer demands, market trends, pricing, supplier capabilities, and competitive activity, supply planning, issue resolution, and ongoing partnership performance.

Partner with operations, finance, procurement, sales, warehouse, and logistics teams to forecast demand, coordinate fulfillment, manage customer commitments, and support profitable business growth.

Track and report on key business metrics, including sales pipeline, revenue, margin, inventory turns, order fulfillment, customer service levels, supplier performance, and risk mitigation efforts.

Utilize and maintain the CRM system to accurately track customer interactions, account plans, sales opportunities, quote follow-ups, pipeline activity, business reviews, and related account management actions.

Provide product education, technical guidance, and sales support to customers and internal stakeholders, including coordinating manufacturer training andknowledge-sharingsessions.

Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials, proactively communicating supply issues, allocation constraints, pricing changes, or delivery risks that may affect customer expectations.

Identify opportunities to expand product offering, introduce complementary solutions, and explore alternate sources for goods and materials where appropriate.

Maintain item master data, customer pricing, supplier pricing, product documentation, and related sales and operational records to support accurate quoting, ordering, invoicing and reporting.

Attend manufacturer webinars, seminars, product launches, and technical sessions to remain current on product knowledge, application guidance, market positioning, and selling points.

Work closely with internal sales resources to coordinate customer outreach, quotefollow-up, cross-selling opportunities, contract renewals, and escalation support.

Maintain close relationships with customers through regular meetings, business reviews, service updates, order progress communication, and performance reporting.

Prepare purchase orders, sales orders, quotes, and related documentation in accordance with negotiated terms, customer requirements, supplier agreements, and organizational targets.

Create BOLs, packing slips, shipping documentation, and customer-facing updates, and coordinate shipments to client locations using internal and external carrier portals.

Resolve customer, manufacturer, and supplier issues related to price, quality, delivery, application support, invoices, claims or service expectations.

Other duties may be assigned occasionally as required by BBE.
