ROLE
Allteck and Canadian Utility Construction are powerline and gas construction companies. The Senior Store Keeper is a corporate position supporting stores operations across all areas in which Allteck and Canadian Utility Construction work.
The primary focus of the role is managing the tool testing program — tracking tools and their test and certification due dates through ToolWatch processes and procedures — and tooling up and sourcing tools for jobs so that crews are equipped with the right tools and equipment for each operation. The role is also responsible for ordering, receiving, warehousing, inventory control, and shipping of materials and tools, along with related procurement and facilities support.
This is a union position and will require the candidate to enroll in IBEW 258.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the tool testing program: track tools and their testing and certification due dates per ToolWatch processes and procedures
- Coordinate testing of grounds, and arrange or perform minor repairs to tools
- Tool up jobs by matching and outfitting tools and equipment to the appropriate vehicles, crews, and operational needs across Allteck and CUC
- Source and procure tools for jobs from various vendors, ensuring the right tools are available when and where they are needed
- Ordering, receiving, warehousing, inventory control, and shipping of materials and tools
- Maintain strict control over inventory levels to meet internal and external demands
- Ensure all shipped orders are sent to destinations in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules; communicate any delays or variances in inbound and outbound freight to the appropriate parties
- Optimize warehouse layout and space to prevent loss or damage and to fully utilize warehouse potential
- Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated and hazardous materials
- Identify discrepancies and be proactive in finding resolutions to issues with material and tool inventory
- Procurement of various stores vendors and items as needed
- Procurement of various facilities vendors and items; facilities setup, maintenance, and compliance
- Monitor and maintain the AED program
- Act as a safety liaison and assist with safety duties
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers when necessary
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant workspace, including shop and yard areas
- Additional stores support, as required
- Facility and racking inspections
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 1 year related work experience
- Red Seal Parts or Warehouseperson Certificate is an asset
- Strong working knowledge of ToolWatch (or comparable tool-tracking systems) is an asset
- Minimum valid Class 3 with airbrake endorsement required

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook

- Ability to operate various equipment including forklift and skid steer
- Able to physically inspect company property and assets
- Exposure to a noisy environment and outside weather conditions
- Manual dexterity required to use a desktop computer and peripherals
- Knowledge of the tools and their use within the industry
- Knowledge of distribution and transmission materials used provincially considered an asset
Pay: $49.33 per hour
