Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician – Athabasca Area (Camp Available)
About the Role We’re hiring an Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician to support repairs and maintenance on log trucks, trailers, and heavy-duty equipment. Camp accommodations are available. This is a hands-on apprenticeship with strong mentorship and steady work.
Key Duties
- Assist with repairs on log trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
- Perform basic maintenance: oil changes, filters, inspections
- Support mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Read and follow schematics and service manuals
- Complete safety checks and follow all safety protocols
- Keep accurate records of work performed
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Experience with automotive, farm equipment, HVAC, or welding is an asset
- Able to use tools safely and perform heavy lifting
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
