Position: Team Lead (Maintenance)
Status: One (1) Permanent Full Time
Program: Operations
Initially assigned to: 176 Main Street West
Purpose:
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager, this position will be responsible for assisting in various administrative functions of day-to-day operations of the Programs, as well as student placements.
This position will provide frontline services in the day-to-day program activities in such a manner as to ensure maximum benefits to clients and the community. All the above is done in accordance with the Organization goals and objectives.
Education and Training:
- Proof of successful completion of a post-secondary education a maintenance-related trade, engineering technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field
- Journeyperson trade certification (Millwright, Electrician, Industrial Mechanic, or equivalent) is preferred
Requirements:
- A negative Criminal Record Check
- Valid Class G driver’s license, proof of insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle
- Current Intermediate/Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certificate required
- Able to lift at a minimum 20 lbs. from squatting to standing position
- Bilingualism (English/French) is required
Experience:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of maintenance experience.
- Previous supervisory, lead hand, or team leadership experience.
- Training or experience in the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating, drywall repair, painting, cleaning
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, specifically adults living with a serious and persistent mental illness and/or Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and complex healthcare needs providing assessments and rehabilitation services
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate maintenance staff while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively coordinate the work of a maintenance team.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills with the ability to respond effectively to operational and equipment issues.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple maintenance activities and deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance and repair knowledge.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation, regulations, and safe work practices.
- Ability to conduct inspections, identify maintenance deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality as per PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act)
- Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Residential Tenancy Act and the Health Care Consent Act

French Language Services Required:
Bilingualism in English and French is required for this FLS-designated position.
Priority will be given to candidates who meet the bilingual requirement. However, unilingual candidates are still encouraged to apply and may be considered if the French language requirement can be otherwise fulfilled or if no suitable bilingual applicants are identified. A formal French proficiency test will be conducted.
Pay: $58,112.00-$68,177.00 per year
