- Review project drawings, specifications, contracts and scope requirements
- Develop and maintain project schedules and coordinate work with site requirements
- Plan labour, materials and other resources required to successfully complete projects
- Coordinate material procurement, deliveries and subcontractors
- Monitor project budgets, costs, commitments and overall financial performance
- Identify, price and manage change orders and changes in project scope
- Prepare and support progress billings and project documentation
- Communicate regularly with general contractors, clients, consultants, suppliers and internal teams
- Work closely with field personnel to address site conditions, scheduling issues and project requirements
- Identify project risks and proactively resolve issues that could affect schedule, cost or quality
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure timely project close-out
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers and industry partners
- Support estimating and tendering activities as required
- Contribute to improvements in project management processes, systems and reporting
What We're Looking For:
We are interested in candidates at different stages of their project management careers. You may be an established Project Manager, or you may be an experienced Project Coordinator or Assistant Project Manager ready for greater responsibility.
The ideal candidate will have:
- College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- A practical understanding of construction drawings, specifications, schedules and project documentation
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence working with general contractors, site supervisors, suppliers and other project stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- An understanding of project budgets, costs and change management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- A collaborative, accountable and team-oriented approach
Commercial construction or general contracting experience is considered an asset but is not required. Flooring industry experience is not required.
Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, business or a related field is considered an asset. Relevant construction experience may be considered in place of formal education.
