The Houseperson stocks linen rooms, responds to guest requests, maintains cleanliness in hotel common areas, completes room cleaning projects, and provides excellent internal and external customer service.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Stock linen rooms with required supplies and deliver extra linens and supplies to guest rooms upon request.
- Collect and dispose of garbage from service areas according to procedure.
- Clean guest floor corridors, linen rooms, service areas, vending areas, elevators, foyers, and furniture according to housekeeping policy.
- Assist with heavy work, including moving furniture, turning mattresses, and handling drapes.
- Clean and spot-clean carpets in assigned areas as directed by the Executive Housekeeper.
- Deliver special-request items, such as cots and cribs, to guest rooms and return them to storage after use.
- Report maintenance defects and faulty equipment to the Housekeeping office for repair.
- Perform custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and other duties as required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Able to stand for up to 8 hours per day and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to use a radio effectively.
- Previous cleaning experience is an asset.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- This full-time position requires flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
