Heritage AutoPro & Tire Chinook is seeking a highly motivated, professional, and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our growing team. As the primary point of contact for our customers, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional service experience while coordinating vehicle repairs efficiently and accurately.
The ideal candidate has strong automotive knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to build lasting customer relationships. Experience with AutoVitals Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI) and Mitchell 1 Shop Management is highly preferred. Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Automotive Technician, or within an automotive dealership or independent repair facility is considered a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers professionally and build lasting relationships through exceptional customer service.
- Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle symptoms and service requests.
- Create and manage repair orders, estimates, and invoices using Mitchell 1 Shop Management software.
- Review Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) results in AutoVitals, including technician notes, photos, and videos, and communicate findings clearly to customers.
- Explain repair recommendations, maintenance priorities, timelines, and pricing in an honest and easy-to-understand manner.
- Obtain customer authorization for repairs and maintain proactive communication throughout the service process.
- Coordinate daily workflow between technicians, parts suppliers, and customers to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and on schedule.
- Recommend preventative maintenance and additional services based on manufacturer guidelines and vehicle condition.
- Process payments, maintain accurate records, and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant.
- Follow up with customers after service to ensure complete satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Help achieve shop sales, customer satisfaction, and profitability goals while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or in a similar customer-facing automotive role.
- Previous dealership, independent repair shop, or automotive technician experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.
- Proficiency with AutoVitals Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) software.
- Working knowledge of Mitchell 1 Shop Management software.
- Proven success in customer service, sales, and consultative upselling.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable handling cash transactions, invoicing, and payment processing.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with fleet maintenance accounts and warranty administration.
- Tire and wheel sales experience.
- Parts sourcing and inventory coordination.
- Knowledge of automotive maintenance schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
