Nature and Scope: The YMCA of Oakville is the largest not-for-profit Child Care provider in Oakville. We offer high-quality Before and After School programs for children ages 3.8 to 12 years at 42 locations across Oakville and Infant, Toddler and Preschool Child Care programs for children ages 6 weeks to 3.8 years at 11 locations across Oakville.
The Enhanced Support facilitator will provide hands on program support to ensure that all children with complex needs are integrated fully into our child care programs. The Enhanced Support facilitator will play a key role in ensuring that YMCA childcare programs celebrate the uniqueness of each child and allow children to fully participate in character-building, values-based programming.

Location: Various School Sites in Oakville, Ontario
Hours of work: Part-time position beginning in late August 2026, aligned with the school-year schedule. Monday to Friday: 7:00am to 9:00am and/or 2:30pm to 6:00pm (Hours may vary based on individual school schedules)
Responsibilities:
- Provide class wide support to children with additional needs.
- Manage behavioural incidents and implement behavioural redirection techniques.
- Support children with varying needs to ensure success throughout our program, this includes but is not limited to, toileting, feeding, providing natural breaks and modifying games/activities.
- Works in program with center program teams to develop and implement a wide range of developmentally appropriate activities for children ages 4 – 12 years old.
- Develops positive relationships with children, parents, school personnel and other team members.
- Adhering to all YMCA Policies and Practices, Child Care & Early Years Act.
- Consistently role models behaviour that aligns with our YMCA core values.
Requirements:
- Social Service Worker Diploma or Child and Youth Care/Worker Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with children in age 4- 12 years old.
- Experience working with children and their families who have developmental delays, complex needs with a focus on family-centered practices.
- Ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the general public.
- Strong collaboration and team skills.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Valid Standard First Aid with CPR C.
- Police Security Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening and Immunization Record.
