Duties
- Thoroughly wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment or manual methods.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, sinks, and surrounding areas to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Organize clean items for storage or distribution to kitchen staff promptly to support efficient food preparation.
- Assist with basic food handling tasks as directed by kitchen supervisors, including organizing supplies and restocking stations.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by ensuring all necessary dishware is available and ready for use.
- Follow proper procedures for waste disposal and recycling to uphold environmental standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols related to chemical use, equipment operation, and personal hygiene at all times.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques and sanitation standards within a food service environment.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable; familiarity with kitchen operations is a plus.
- Ability to handle food safely and understand basic food handling procedures.
- Experience with food preparation or cooking can be beneficial but is not required.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure all dishes are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Good physical stamina for standing long hours, lifting heavy items, and performing repetitive tasks efficiently.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with kitchen staff and management.
