Job Overview
Certa Industries is a growing company specializing in structural and miscellaneous steel projects in the commercial sector. We are seeking a skilled and dependable welder to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and repairing ornamental iron and railing components across a range of projects. This role requires strong blueprint-reading skills and the safe, effective use of specialized tools and equipment.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, layouts, drawings, manuals, and work orders.
- Utilize power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters and other equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal components.
- Measure materials to ensure proper fit and alignment.
- Install structural supports, and other miscellaneous iron components according to project specifications.
- Conduct tasks as needed for custom fabrication or adjustments.
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure they meet applicable quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and actively participate in workplace safety programs and procedures.
- Demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, time management, and organizational skills.
- Work collaboratively with team members while also being able to perform tasks independently with minimal supervision.
- Support product quality and workmanship throughout the manufacturing process to meet customer expectations for cost, quality, and schedule.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant welding and fabrication experience is required; additional experience is considered an asset.
- Red Seal certification, or an equivalent welding or fabrication certification, is considered an asset.
- Current First Aid and Fall Arrest Protection training is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and Metal-Cored Arc Welding (MCAW) is required.
- Experience with custom fabrication, structural work, ornamental metalwork, and the assembly of fencing, balconies, stairs, railings, and heavy equipment attachments is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Professional interpersonal and communication skills.
Pay: $26.00-$38.00 per hour
