Position Description
The Manufacturing Engineer supports continuous improvement in manufacturing by managing efficiency, equipment, innovation, and process projects.
Duties
- Support innovation projects alongside the Production Manager
- Champion continuous improvement opportunities in manufacturing
- Develop new processes and manage program launches
- Research new equipment and processes
- Project manage the rollout of new products in the manufacturing sites
- Support the maintenance team with troubleshooting equipment failures
- Conduct time studies throughout operations to validate labour requirements and drive process improvement
- Develop manufacturing standards for costing purposes and develop other process standards (ex. Pallet standards, packaging standards, nailing standards, gluing standards, etc.)
- Comply with local regulations
- Adhere to ISO 9001 and 14001 Policies and Procedures
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalency in combination of education and experience
- 2-5 years’ manufacturing experience in a technical role
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings/documents
- Ability to train others on existing or new processes
- Detail-oriented and Conscientious
- Ability to troubleshoot and innovate in a hands-on environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment
- Strong ability to Project Manage
- Positive, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
- Experience working within a manufacturing ERP system is considered a major asset
