Job Summary
We are seeking an Assistant Controller for a full-time permanent opportunity in Surrey. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who wants broad exposure to financial reporting, compliance, inventory accounting, cross-border operations, and process improvement within a growing wholesale, import-export, distribution, or consumer goods environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with ASPE and IFRS, as applicable.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, working papers, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare variance analyses comparing actual results to budgets and prior periods, with clear explanations of key business drivers.
- Oversee accounts payable processing, including review of automated and manual ERP entries for accuracy and policy compliance.
- Manage landed cost accounting for international container shipments, including freight, duties, customs clearance charges, and related vendor costs.
- Support tax compliance, audits, payroll compliance coordination, internal controls documentation, and ongoing finance process improvements.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: CAD $100,000 to $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
