Intermediate Mechanical Designer
MC3 Manufacturing Inc. – Ruthven, ON – Pay based on experience
The role
Every job that runs through this shop starts with someone who figured out exactly how to build it. As an Intermediate Mechanical Designer, you’re the person who takes what a customer needs and turns it into something the shop can work from – precise drawings, flat patterns, step files, and complete bills of materials.
This is a technical, detail-driven role. You’re interpreting customer requirements and translating them into designs that are accurate, complete, and ready to manufacture. The shop depends on what you put out. A clean package means production can move. An incomplete one means everything stops.
If getting the details right is something you take seriously, we’d like to meet you.
What you’ll be doing
- Interpret customer requirements and develop designs to meet their specifications
- Use SolidWorks to create parts and detailed drawing packages for manufacturing
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) using Epicor ERP and Flow MES
- Prepare flat patterns for sheet laser cutting
- Generate step files for structural laser cutting
What you bring
You’re someone who understands that a drawing is a set of instructions for another person – and you hold yourself to a standard that reflects that. You’re familiar with metal fabrication and manufacturing, and you know what the shop needs to see to get the job done.
- 2+ years of experience in a design role, preferably with SolidWorks
- Proven ability to interpret customer requirements and develop detailed designs
- Familiar with metal fabricating and manufacturing processes
- Comfortable working with ERP and MES systems
- Strong attention to detail and organized work habits
- Clear communicator who works well with internal teams
- Solid computer skills
