Marcotte Disposal is a local waste management company providing residential, commercial, front-end, roll-off, and waste collection services to the communities we serve.
We are looking for a reliable 310T Truck & Coach Technician or Apprentice to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working on different types of trucks and equipment in a busy shop environment.
Summary
The 310T Truck & Coach Technician or Apprentice is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company vehicles and equipment to meet both Ministry and company standards.
The successful candidate will work on a variety of equipment, including front-end trucks, roll-off trucks, rear packers, loaders, excavators, bobcats, and other company vehicles. Experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, electrical, brake, air, and suspension systems would be considered an asset.
We are preferably looking for a licensed 310T Truck & Coach Technician, but we are open to speaking with registered apprentices or candidates with strong experience working on heavy trucks and equipment.
Responsibilities
In the position of 310T Truck & Coach Technician or Apprentice, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair company vehicles and equipment to Ministry and company standards
- Complete preventative maintenance and safety inspections on trucks and equipment
- Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently to help minimize equipment downtime
- Repair waste collection vehicles and heavy equipment, including hydraulic, electrical, brake, air, and suspension systems
- Perform road tests on serviced vehicles and equipment when required
- Review and complete repairs identified on driver inspection reports
- Complete work orders and maintain accurate service records
- Document repairs, parts used, and work completed
- Read and interpret manufacturer and operator manuals when required
- Respond to equipment issues or service calls during your scheduled shift when required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures
- Communicate with the Fleet Manager and operations team regarding equipment status, repair timelines, and safety concerns
- Complete additional shop duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- 310T Truck & Coach Technician licence preferred
- Registered 310T apprentices may also be considered
- 3–5 years of experience preferred, but we are open to the right candidate
- Experience working on heavy trucks, diesel equipment, hydraulics, and/or heavy equipment
- Experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems considered an asset
- Valid G licence required
- DZ licence considered an asset
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to complete required paperwork and use basic computer systems
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position
- Must follow company safety policies and procedures
