PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for repairing, maintaining and conducting preventative maintenance on farm machinery, production equipment and plant facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment;
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment accordingly;
- Inventory management of parts and tools;
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance;
- Observe operating equipment to diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments;
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment and plant facilities;
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions;
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties;
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas;
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years as a Maintenance Mechanic/millwright;
- 5th Class Power Engineering certificate holder is an asset
- Previous experience in manufacturing facility
- Knowledgeable on conveyor systems, motors and gear boxes, compressors, pumps, boiler and other manufacturing equipment
- Stainless Steel Welding experience is a MUST
- Can operate forklift
- Willing to work on extended hours and holidays/weekends
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Computer Literate (MS Word, Excel)
