Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our team and provide exceptional care to individuals in various settings, including home, community, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe changes in health status to ensure safety and prompt reporting of concerns
- Support medication administration following proper protocols and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other transfer aids safely to support residents’ mobility and prevent injury
- Maintain detailed care plans and document patient progress accurately while respecting confidentiality standards
- Perform light cleaning duties to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for clients
Experience
- Previous experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is advantageous
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus
- Familiarity with patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and care plan implementation is essential
- Experience using assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or working with residents requiring heavy lifting support is beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Strong communication skills combined with compassion and patience to provide respectful patient-centered care
