Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Tow Truck Operator to join our team. This position involves safely operating tow trucks to assist with vehicle recoveries, transport, and roadside assistance. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, excellent customer service skills. The Tow Truck Operator plays a vital role in ensuring efficient and safe vehicle recovery operations while providing professional service to customers.
Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks and related equipment to recover, transport, and deliver vehicles safely and efficiently
- Assist customers with roadside assistance needs, including lockouts, tire changes, and minor repairs
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during vehicle recovery and transport procedures
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of tow truck equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Maintain accurate documentation of all jobs performed, including vehicle details and recovery reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate operations
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies during daily operations
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor mechanical issues on the truck or vehicles being recovered
Experience
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle systems and tow truck operation is highly desirable
- Customer service experience is a plus, as the role involves direct interaction with clients
- Experience operating forklifts or similar machinery is beneficial but not required
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required for this position
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks effectively
- Must pass a criminal record check
- Will train the right candidate
Pay: $40,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
