Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced DZ Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight and goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance. The DZ Truck Driver plays a vital role in our logistics operations, supporting the efficient movement of freight across various locations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate DZ licensed trucks to transport freight and goods to designated locations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as necessary
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and reporting of any issues encountered during transit
- Assist with freight handling, including securing loads and verifying shipment accuracy
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when required to ensure vehicle readiness
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and issues
Qualifications
- Valid DZ driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields
- Knowledge of forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is a plus
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting on trucks and equipment
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and freight handling
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and compliance
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various environments
- Physical ability to load/unload freight, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks requiring standing or walking for extended periods
