The primary responsibilities include driving work on emerging initiatives that impact Yellowknife and providing researched policy positions that can inform impactful decisions made by the City Manager and Council. You will establish strategic and long- term relationships with the business community, private sector, community groups and the general public to advance the City's interests. The Director is also responsible for providing oversight of all internal/external communications, including all facets of media relations and strategic communications.
Qualified candidates must possess a Master's in Public Administration (MPA), Master of Business Administration (MBA) or the equivalency in a related field and a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in a senior management position. The successful applicant will also possess a strong leadership presence, excellent communication skills and be an effective public speaker.
