Job description
Titan Boats is looking for a skilled and innovative Marine Design Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the President to design and develop customer-driven upgrades and superstructure developments. You’ll play an integral role in revising existing models and providing detailed drawings to support our production team in fabrication processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of new boat structures and customer-required changes.
- Revise and create detailed design drawings using SolidWorks and Draftsight.
- Provide accurate cut files and design support for production.
- Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and define build strategies to ensure smooth production processes.
- Offer design support to vendors and internal departments during production.
- Track production issues and ensure quality control, offering technical solutions and communicating with key stakeholders.
- Participate in production meetings, follow safety guidelines, and support project goals.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or marine equivalent.
- Industry certifications are an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in marine design.
- Experience in production environments is a must.
- Proficient in SolidWorks, Rhino and 2D software (preferred).
- Knowledge of CNC pathing software and aluminum boat manufacturing (preferred).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiar with geometry or master-part-based modeling (preferred).
- Strong customer service skills and proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office, and other relevant software.
