QUALIFIED TEACHER for a nature-based Waldorf Private School

The Forest Courtyard Initiative, an alternative private day school, focused on creating a beautiful, and holistic space for education, is in search of a kindergarten teacher.
The role is for someone who will meet children with a calm authentic love that offers a healthy space for growth in these beautiful childhood years and a deep sense of connection and comfort in a real forest and farm setting.
Ongoing mentoring and support under our seasoned, loving Certified Waldorf lead teacher is provided.
Position Requirements:
- Competent: A worker bee of sorts is a fit with us as we spend much of our time amongst the trees and meadows and with farm animals for daily farm chores, care and connection. Strong English language skills and basic mathematics/arithmetic, gardening, swimming (an asset)
- A teacher who plans ahead with a neat and tidy classroom rhythm and schedule and naturally stays ahead of the curve
- Patient, calm and loving demeanor
- Able to hold a strong, detailed and consistent rhythm (time keeping) to support healthy development for our kindergarten children and the days flow.
- Striving for inner growth as an adult in order to meet the child before you and their needs in this earthly place!
- Able to lift 60lb and lead farm work such as mucking stalls, moving hay/straw bales with your students (this really is a real life school!)
- Able to participate and lead forest walks and adventures, able to carry on even when we may have one mucky boot and a wet glove!
- Ability to start a fire
- A bonus may be a Lover of dancing, singing and movement.
- Strong, and connected classroom management skills
- Organized
