The Role
Handshake Services is expanding across the Prairies and is hiring an additional Journeyman Millwright based out of Lethbridge, Alberta, to support field operations.
This role is hands-on and field-based, with the opportunity to develop into leadership and foreman responsibilities over time.

We build and maintain agricultural and industrial infrastructure that keeps Western Canada moving.
Our projects include:
● Seed cleaning facility construction and modernization
● Fertilizer plant builds and retrofits
● Grain handling and conveyor system installations
● Structural steel erection
● Mechanical installations and facility upgrades
● Emergency shutdown repairs and maintenance

What You’ll Do
- Perform mechanical installation, alignment, and commissioning
- Work on grain handling, seed, and fertilizer systems
- Support maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting
- Assist with rigging, lifts, and working around cranes
- Work closely with foremen and crews to execute projects efficiently
- Contribute to job site organization, safety, and productivity
As you grow in the role, you will take on more responsibility in leading work, supporting crews, and contributing to project execution at a higher level.
What We’re Looking For
- Journeyman Millwright Certification (or equivalent experience)
- Strong mechanical installation and maintenance experience
- Experience in agricultural or industrial construction environments
- Experience working with rigging and around cranes
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Comfortable working at heights and putting in long hours when required
This role is suited for someone who wants to grow and develop into a leadership position over time.
Required Background
We are seeking candidates who have direct experience in agriculture-related environments, including grain handling, seed, fertilizer, equipment installation, or maintenance.
Travel
- Primary focus is on Lethbridge and area
- Some travel across Alberta and occasional support in Saskatchewan
Our goal is to secure consistent local work so our team can be home as much as possible. This role plays a key part in building that foundation.
Compensation
- $45–$55/hour (based on experience)
