Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Mammography Technologist to join our healthcare team at Keswick Advanced Imaging, part of the Ontario Breast Screening Program. This vital role involves performing high-quality mammographic imaging to assist in the early detection and diagnosis of breast health issues. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a thorough understanding of medical terminology, and a compassionate approach to patient care. Duties
- Prepare patients for mammography procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety
- Operate mammography equipment to capture detailed breast images with precision and care
- Ensure all images meet quality standards for diagnostic purposes according to OBSP and CAR criteria.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
- Follow safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure for patients and staff
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and proper functioning of imaging equipment
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare professionals to interpret results and plan further care if necessary
- Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and hospital policies related to imaging procedures
Experience
- Prior experience in mammography is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and excellent patient communication skills are required
- Certification as a Mammography Technologist, successful completion of Breast Imaging 1 and Breast Imaging 2 from the CAMRT is required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compassion and professionalism
- Current registration and in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) in Radiography is required
- Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is preferred
- Certificate in Breast Imaging (CBI) is preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence in breast positioning to consistently produce high-quality mammograms
- Evidence of continuing education related to the profession is required
- Demonstrated ability to work responsibly in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required
Pay: $44.00-$49.00 per hour
