PART TIME JOB
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver with a class 3 license with air brakes to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting stone slabs safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various types of freight. This job is a part time position. 2-3 days per week.
Duties
- Operate heavy flat deck truck to transport slabs of quartz and granite between locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Maintain accurate records of trip logs books
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transport.
- Adhere to all local, provincial, and federal transportation regulations.
- Perform basic automotive repairs as needed to ensure vehicle reliability.
- Operate forklifts and heavy equipment when required for loading and unloading tasks.
Qualifications
- Valid class 3 with air brakes is required.
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of automotive repair is a plus.
- Experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
