Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Drywall Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying joint compound, taping, and finishing drywall surfaces to create smooth, seamless walls and ceilings. This role requires attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment. Experience in construction painting, carpentry, and handyman tasks is highly valued, along with the ability to read blueprints and perform caulking as needed. The Drywall Taper plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality finishes for residential and commercial projects.
Duties
- Apply joint compound and tape to drywall seams using hand tools and taping techniques
- Finish drywall surfaces by sanding, smoothing, and preparing for painting or finishing
- Install drywall sheets according to project specifications and blueprints
- Perform caulking around joints, corners, and fixtures to ensure airtight finishes
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for accurate installation
- Assist with carpentry tasks related to drywall installation or repairs as needed
- Maintain a clean work area by removing debris and organizing tools and materials
- Collaborate with other trades such as painters, carpenters, and general contractors to meet project deadlines
Requirements
- Proven experience in drywall taping, finishing, or related construction roles
- Knowledge of construction painting, carpentry, caulking, and blueprint reading
- Handyman experience is preferred for versatile task execution
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship
- Physical ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions
- Reliable transportation and adherence to safety protocols are essential
