Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aides to provide exceptional support to residents in home care settings. This role is vital in ensuring the well-being, safety, and comfort of seniors and individuals with disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for caregiving, excellent interpersonal skills, and experience working with diverse populations, including those with dementia or requiring medication assistance. Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support with medication administration following proper protocols and documentation
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a caring environment
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment
- Monitor residents' health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals
- Support residents with activities of daily living in accordance with care plans
- Assist individuals with disabilities in achieving greater independence and quality of life
- Follow all safety procedures and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care preferred; experience with senior care, dementia care, or working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures is desirable
- Compassionate nature with strong caregiving skills and patience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Basic cleaning and meal preparation skills are beneficial
- Certification or training in caregiving or first aid is an asset but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is expected
- Must be reliable, respectful, and committed to providing high-quality care
