Front Desk Receptionist / Guest Services Agent
Overview
Harbourview Inn & Suites is seeking a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Front Desk Receptionist to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, managing reservations, handling guest inquiries, and ensuring a welcoming experience for all visitors. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced hotel environment.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and provide a warm, professional first impression during check-in and check-out.
- Manage hotel reservations through the Property Management System (PMS), online booking channels, and direct bookings.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls, emails, and guest inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Process guest payments, deposits, refunds, and billing transactions accurately.
- Assist guests with room assignments, local recommendations, directions, and hotel amenities.
- Monitor room availability, occupancy levels, and reservation updates.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure rooms are ready and guest requests are fulfilled.
- Handle guest concerns, complaints, and special requests professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate guest records and reservation information.
- Perform daily front desk administrative tasks, including reports, filing, and correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards.
- Support sales initiatives by promoting hotel services, amenities, and special offers.
- Assist with night audit duties and shift reports when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and lobby area.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, hotel front desk, customer service, or administrative roles preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
- Experience with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS), Booking.com, Expedia, Best Western systems, or similar reservation platforms is considered an asset.
- Ability to handle cash, credit card transactions, and basic bookkeeping tasks accurately.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional phone etiquette and guest relations skills.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.

Pay: From $16.75 per hour
