Position summary
Department / Research Program: Clinical Practice Assessment Unit
The Canadian Medication Appropriateness and Deprescribing Network is a national research organization working to reduce harm by improving the safety and appropriateness of medications used by Canadians. A small, dynamic team with a big mission, our work and achievements span provinces and range from public awareness campaigns to healthcare professional education, from province-wide research trials to influencing national drug policy. As Clinical Research Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the successful conduct of clinical research studies. You will collaborate with investigators and study participants.
As Clinical Research Coordinator, you will report directly to the Lab Director, with direction also provided by the Assistant Director.
General Duties
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the incumbent will:
- Assist in the planning/organization of research projects,
- Recruit patients for research studies,
- Obtaim consent from patients for participation in research studies,
- Interview patients,
- Complete patient questionnaires,
- Perform data entry,
- Collaborate and assists team members and sponsors’ representatives, as needed,
- Complete and maintain up-to-date specific trainings,
- Complete of all other connected tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Standards of performance:
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
- Demonstrate diplomacy, discretion and good judgment,
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).

Education / Experience
Education: Diplome of College Studies (DEC)
Field of Study: Health Sciences
Other education considered an asset for this position: Bachelors in Health Sciences
Work Experience: 1-2 years
Required Skills
- Knowledge of French is required.
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with patients, researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with the general public, health care professionals, researchers and community/health organizations,
- Demonstrated experience and sensitivity in working with diverse communities an asset,
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills, attention to detail,
- Ability to work independently with limited direction,
- Ability to handle multiple programs and/or priorities simultaneously.
Additional information
Status: Temporary, part-time: 20 hours
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Other or part-time
Other: 20 hours/week during workdays between 8AM and 5PM
Work Site: 100% Remote
