The Marketing and Business Development Specialist supports marketing and communications, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and business development activities for the BC region.
Marketing and Communications support
- Draft clear and concise communications for lawyer bios, including experience items and LinkedIn profiles, invites, website, newsletters, fact sheets, ads, speeches, PowerPoint presentations, social media and other communication items
- Develop social media plan for paid social campaigns, including working with lawyers and Business Development teams to build, monitor and execute campaigns and post-campaign analysis and reporting
- Draft and coordinate regional ranking submissions and award nominations
- Update and assemble firm promotional materials, fact sheets, and bios into packages to support marketing and business development initiatives
Request for Proposals support
- Assist with the preparation of high-quality RFP responses and presentations, preparing electronic or hard copies of these documents for delivery and distribution
- Coordinate with Industry and Practice Groups (IPGs) to gather relevant information, create impactful narratives, and ensure timely submission of proposals
- Track and analyze RFP outcomes to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Business Development support
- Plan and support the execution of client-facing events, sponsorships, and seminars to foster client engagement and firm visibility (some travel and working outside of normal business hours may be required)
- Support Strategic Account Management (SAM) program
- Help identify new business and marketing opportunities and recommend actions to pursue them
- Assist with special projects (regional and firmwide) as necessary
Knowledge Management
- Build knowledge of industry and practice groups (lawyers and industry group expertise)
- Build knowledge of Fasken’s legal service
- Build knowledge of BC Top client base
Qualifications
- 3-6 years of experience in a marketing and business development role in professional services. Strong preference for candidates with legal or other professional services-related firm experience
- An undergraduate degree in Marketing, communications, business or public relations and/or completion of a two-year Marketing diploma program
- Strong communications experience, client-focused with a high degree of professional discretion and diplomacy
- Experience with CRM tools is a plus
Supervision
- This role reports to the Senior Director, Marketing and Business Development and the Manager, Marketing and Business Development

Compensation
The typical salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
