About the Role
Reporting to the IT Director, the Network Support Technician will be primarily responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and optimal use of the company’s IT equipment, servers, and network infrastructure. The role also involves active participation in various projects within the plant.
Up to date with IT best practices, ready to take on challenges, and motivated by change, the candidate will play a key role within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the plant’s IT assets in accordance with Siemens' IT policies
- Ensure maintenance and proper operation of various IT servers
- Troubleshoot issues and optimize the performance of networks and equipment
- Provide Level 2 IT support: receive service requests, log and document incidents, and assist users in resolving technical issues
- Manage and participate in projects involving the implementation of new IT tools
- Participate in projects related to the deployment of new production equipment
- Promote continuous improvement of procedures and processes within the department and across the organization
Note: This position requires working 100% on-site at our Drummondville office
The successful candidate for this position must be bilingual. Fluency in French and English (verbal and written) is required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position for the following reason(s):
- The role requires interacting with English-speaking customers and suppliers across Canada and/or internationally;
- The role requires regular interactions with Siemens colleagues based outside of Quebec, nationally and internationally;
- The role requires using software or technology that is available only in English;
- The role requires liaising with foreign regulatory and governmental agencies based in the United States and/or Europe;
- The role requires supervision of employees located outside of Quebec.
