ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely administration of payroll processes to ensure employees are paid correctly, completely, and in accordance with applicable legislation, collective agreements, organizational policies, and established procedures. The Payroll Clerk works closely with managers, employees, Human Resources, and Finance to maintain payroll accuracy and support effective workforce administration.
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
· Diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, Payroll Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of payroll administration practices; payroll processes, and payroll record management.
· Strong knowledge of payroll legislation
· Knowledge of collective agreements, and organizational policies related to payroll administration.
· Ability to interpret payroll-related documentation and verify accuracy of payroll transactions.
· Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
· Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple competing demands.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications – particularly excel.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a computerized environment.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
· Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data entry, validation, and record maintenance.
ASSETS:
· Bilingual – English / French
· Payroll administration education, training, or related certification.
SALARY RANGE:
· $30.58 - $33.30 PER HOUR
