JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Inspect guest rooms, public space and back of house areas to repair, touch up or replace light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall covering, caulking, grouting or other miscellaneous repairs.
· Duties will also include work on HVAC equipment, some plumbing and electrical work.
· Reports major repairs and items that cannot be repaired for further action.
· Assist other department team members in the systematic application of the preventative maintenance program.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to move and work throughout the hotel for the duration of the shift.
· Use of power hand tools and the ability to stoop, kneel, grasp, lift, push and pull weight up to 80 lbs.
· The ability to climb ladders up to 30 feet high and reach in all directions, oftentimes overhead is also required.
· Lift and move sometimes heavy items or equipment.
EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
· One to two years experience in a building or facility setting.
· Experience in general maintenance trades including electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry.
· Experience in building repair experience required.
· Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment.
· Knowledge of HVAC equipment is required.
· Painting and wallpaper installation ability is required.
· Experience in upholstery repair would be an asset.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Post secondary training or certification in any of the above related fields is considered an asset.
