Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing authentic sushi and Japanese cuisine with precision, creativity, and a keen eye for quality. Your expertise will ensure that every dish meets high standards of presentation, flavor, and food safety. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests by showcasing your mastery of sushi preparation and food handling techniques. Duties
- Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes, including rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and specialty items, following established recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene practices throughout all food preparation processes
- Handle raw fish and other ingredients with proper food handling techniques to ensure freshness and safety
- Cook accompaniments such as rice, tempura, or other Japanese-inspired dishes as needed
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary ingredients and supplies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely meal preparation
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, particularly in sushi or Japanese cuisine, within a restaurant or food service setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent skills in serving guests with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Kitchen experience with meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food industry best practices
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and teamwork dynamics
- Passion for culinary arts with a focus on authentic sushi craftsmanship
