MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR — HEAVY INDUSTRIAL | Vancouver, BC | Days | M–F
A well-established heavy industrial operation in Delta, BC, is looking for a maintenance supervisor to lead a skilled trades team in a fast-moving, high-throughput environment. This is a non-union supervisory role inside a unionized facility — you'll need to know the work, earn the respect of the crew, and keep maintenance running tight.
The Role
You'll be the go-to person for all things maintenance—planning, scheduling, troubleshooting, and making sure the right people are on the right jobs. You'll work alongside your team, not just above them. This isn't a desk job.
- Lead and coordinate a team of millwrights, machinists, and/or pipefitters
- Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy industrial equipment—bulk handling, conveying systems, rotating equipment
- Manage work orders, prioritize breakdowns, and keep production moving
- Interface between maintenance and operations — translate problems into plans
- Mentor trades staff and support apprentice development
- Enforce safe work practices; hold the team accountable to standards
Schedule
Monday–Friday | Day shift | Start time 6:00–7:00 AM (TBC)
What You Bring
- Red Seal Millwright (433A), Machinist, or Pipefitter — or equivalent journeyman certification
- 5+ years in heavy industrial maintenance (terminals, ports, bulk handling, mining, LNG, or similar — not light manufacturing)
- Experience as a lead hand, acting supervisor, or working foreman
- Comfortable in a unionized environment in a non-union capacity
- Able to read drawings, interpret schematics, and troubleshoot mechanically
- Strong communicator — you can talk to a VP and a journeyman on the same day without missing a beat
Compensation
$90,000–$110,000/year | Benefits | Direct hire
