Assistant manager/Dispatcher (French/English) – Flatbed Experience Required

Brona Transport LTD is seeking a reliable and experienced Assistant manager/Dispatcher to support our transportation operations and assist the Operations Manager in coordinating daily dispatch activities.
The ideal candidate is fully bilingual in French and English, has over 5 years of experience in trucking industry, dispatching and managing, is confident managing flatbed trailer operations across Canada and the U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate team and dispatch flatbed trucks for local and cross-border deliveries.
- Assist the Operations Manager with daily fleet planning and driver scheduling, shop maintenance scheduling
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, third-party carriers and service providers in both French and English.
- Monitor shipment status, track progress, and handle unexpected delays and route changes.
- Take active part in resolving SOS situations, driver on road incidents and break downs
- Ensure compliance with all transportation and safety regulations
- Maintain and control accurate dispatch logs, records, and delivery documents.
- Optimize route planning and load assignments to improve efficiency.
- Proactively identify and secure new freight opportunities, routes, and transportation contracts
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers, shippers, and logistics partners
- Monitor market conditions to find profitable lanes and backhaul opportunities
- Provide support and instructions to drivers throughout their routes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a team leader in dispatching in trucking/transportation industry.
- Solid knowledge of flatbed trailer operations.
- Fully bilingual – fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Truck driver experience in the past is an asset
- Proficient with dispatch software and GPS tracking systems.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Canada- USA border logistics is an asset.
