Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our construction and restoration team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing work. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial sites, utilizing a broad range of skills in construction and finishing trades.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Read blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications and ensure accurate application of finishes.
- Utilize hand tools such as scrapers, putty knives, and brushes for detailed work.
- Operate power tools safely to facilitate surface preparation and finishing tasks.
- Perform concrete finishing and masonry work as needed for surface repairs or enhancements.
- Install or repair cabinetry, flooring, tiles, or other interior elements as part of comprehensive finishing projects.
- Use caulking to seal gaps and joints for weatherproofing and aesthetic purposes.
- Assist with construction estimating by assessing project scope related to painting and finishing tasks.
- Operate heavy equipment when required for large-scale restoration or construction projects.
- Follow safety protocols related to electrical systems, plumbing, welding, or other specialized trades involved in renovation projects.
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and schematics interpretation for accurate project execution.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, caulking, and surface preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of construction methods including concrete forming, concrete finishing, framing, carpentry, masonry, electrical systems, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, and cabinet installation.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely during restoration or construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction estimating principles related to painting projects.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship in all finishes.
- Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working at heights when necessary. Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
