Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Drywall Installer / Taper / Finisher to join our team.
In this role, you will install, board, tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall on residential and commercial projects. You will work closely with project managers and fellow tradespeople to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to producing outstanding workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and install drywall panels according to project specifications.
- Tape, apply joint compound, sand, and finish drywall to create smooth, paint-ready surfaces.
- Repair damaged drywall and blend repairs seamlessly with existing finishes.
- Apply caulking and sealants where required to achieve a clean, professional appearance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and construction drawings.
- Coordinate with painters and other trades to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Protect surrounding finishes and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the project.
- Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices.
- Submit daily work updates and progress reports using the company's mobile reporting application.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients, site supervisors, and other trades.
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of professional drywall boarding, taping, and finishing experience.
- Experience working on residential and/or commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of drywall installation and finishing techniques.
- Proficiency with drywall finishing tools and equipment.
- Ability to work safely on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive manual tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are considered assets:
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
- Experience in painting, restoration, framing, carpentry, or other finishing trades.
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience using smartphones or mobile applications for daily reporting.
