Assistant Controller
We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This is a key leadership role for a seasoned accounting professional who thrives in a team-oriented environment, values accuracy and accountability, and is capable of working closely with operational and executive leadership to support strategic business objectives.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on financial professional with strong technical accounting expertise, excellent leadership skills, and a minimum of 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience. A CPA designation is preferred, but not required, for candidates with exceptional practical experience and demonstrated success in senior-level accounting roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
- Lead month-end, quarter end, and year-end close processes
- Work closely with internal departments to support financial reporting and operational decision-making
- Assist with cash flow management, inter-company reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions
- Mentor and support members of the accounting team
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and reporting efficiencies
Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Previous experience in a senior accounting, controller, or assistant controller role
- CPA designation preferred (or equivalent senior-level accounting experience)
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting best practices
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Proven ability to work closely with a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
