About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Store Manager to lead the opening of our newest location and build a strong, high-performing store from the ground up.
As Store Manager, you’ll take ownership of your store’s people, performance, customer experience, and day-to-day operations. For this new location, you’ll also play an important role in bringing the store to life — helping build the team, establish the culture, create strong routines, and set the standard for how the store operates from day one.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor with their team, developing people, solving problems, and finding ways to make the business better.
What You Can Expect
- Competitive compensation with bonus potential of up to 10% of base salary.
- The opportunity to build and shape a new store and team from the ground up.
- Ongoing training, coaching, and development.
- A supportive leadership team that wants you to succeed.
- Opportunities to grow as our business continues to evolve.
- A fast-paced environment where your ideas, leadership, and results can make a real impact.
What You’ll Do
Build & Lead Your Team
- Help recruit, onboard, and develop the team for a successful store opening.
- Lead, coach, and develop an engaged, accountable, high-performing team.
- Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback, recognition, and coaching.
- Build a positive store culture where people work together, take ownership, and support one another.
- Identify opportunities to develop future leaders within your team.
Drive Store Performance
- Take ownership of store sales, labour, customer experience, and overall business results.
- Use sales trends, customer insights, inventory, and other store data to identify opportunities and make informed decisions.
- Set clear priorities for your team and turn business goals into strong day-to-day execution.
- Look for opportunities to grow the business through customer engagement, community connection, and strong in-store experiences.
- Understand what is happening in your store and take action when results are off track.
Own the Store Experience
- Lead from the floor and set the standard for friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging customer service.
- Build strong relationships with customers and create an environment they want to return to.
- Make sure the store is welcoming, organized, well-merchandised, and ready for business every day.
- Create strong routines and standards from the beginning that set the store and team up for long-term success.
- Stay calm, adaptable, and solutions-focused when priorities change or challenges come up.
Run Strong Operations
- Manage scheduling and labour effectively while balancing business needs and team support.
- Maintain strong controls around cash, inventory, reporting, and store procedures.
- Ensure the store operates safely and in full compliance with provincial cannabis regulations and company standards.
- Partner with Operations, People & Culture, Marketing, and other teams to successfully launch and support new initiatives.
- Take ownership of issues, follow through, and make sure the details don’t get missed.
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of leadership experience in retail, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
- Experience leading and developing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- A hands-on leadership style — you’re comfortable coaching a team member, helping a customer, solving an operational issue, or jumping onto the floor when needed.
- Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
- The ability to set clear expectations and hold yourself and others accountable.
- A high level of ownership, reliability, and follow-through.
- Comfort using sales and operational results to make decisions and improve performance.
- Adaptability and the ability to lead through change.
- Cannabis retail experience is an asset, but strong retail leadership experience is most important.
- Provincial cannabis certification, or the ability to obtain it before starting.
- Ability to successfully complete a criminal record check.
You’ll Be Successful Here If You
- You see what needs to be done and make it happen.
- You’re always looking for ways to improve the store, the team, and the customer experience.
- You give clear feedback, recognize great work, and help your team grow.
- You can adjust quickly when priorities, customer needs, or business conditions change.
- You communicate openly, ask for support when you need it, and contribute to the success of the broader team.
- You bring the attitude, effort, and accountability you expect from your team.
Opening a new store is a unique opportunity. You’ll have the chance to establish the culture, build the team, connect with the local community, and create the routines that will shape how the store operates for years to come.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive environment where all team members feel welcomed, respected, and supported.
