Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver specializing in Class 1 and 5-ton vehicle operation part time or full time. This role involves delivering freight efficiently and safely, ensuring timely service to clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, knowledge of heavy equipment operation, and a commitment to safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 and 5-ton trucks for freight delivery across designated routes.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Assist with heavy equipment operation, including forklifts and other machinery required for loading/unloading.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for all shipments.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse personnel to coordinate deliveries and pickups.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for Class 1
- Experience in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, or freight transportation preferred.
- Knowledge of forklift operation and basic automotive repair is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy vehicle operation and freight handling.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, loading, and unloading freight.
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with local routes and traffic regulations.
- Prior experience with automotive troubleshooting or minor repairs is advantageous. This position requires a dedicated professional committed to safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service in the transportation industry.
Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour
