Sales Assistant – Business Communications and Cost-Savings
Job Overview
Telico is seeking a motivated and organized Sales Assistant to support our business customer outreach, quoting, and account development activities.
This is a business-to-business sales role focused on helping Canadian companies review their existing phone and communications services. The Sales Assistant will contact prospective and existing customers, understand their current setup and costs, identify potential savings, and determine whether they would benefit from upgraded features or a more modern communications solution.
The successful candidate will be trained on the Telico Sales Cockpit, quoting tools, business phone systems, VoIP services, contact centre features, and AI-powered communication solutions. This role is ideal for someone who communicates professionally, pays attention to detail, and can build relationships with business owners, office managers, operations teams, and technology decision-makers.
Responsibilities
- Contact prospective and existing business customers by phone, email, LinkedIn, and online contact forms
- Introduce Telico’s business communications cost-savings review
- Build relationships with business owners, office managers, operations managers, IT teams, and other decision-makers
- Review how customers currently manage their business calls and communications
- Ask discovery questions about current phone services, users, telephone numbers, monthly costs, contracts, equipment, features, and operational requirements
- Collect current invoices, contracts, service details, and other information required to prepare an accurate review
- Analyze customers’ current communications expenses and identify opportunities to reduce costs
- Determine whether customers require upgraded features, improved reliability, or a more modern phone system
- Identify opportunities for features such as mobile and desktop applications, call recording, reporting, SMS, contact centre tools, call routing, voicemail transcription, AI voice assistants, and workflow automation
- Prepare professional quotes, cost comparisons, savings analyses, and recommended solution summaries
- Clearly explain how the proposed solution compares with the customer’s current service
- Schedule discovery calls, demonstrations, quote reviews, and follow-up meetings
- Conduct introductory product demonstrations and explain Telico’s services in clear business terms
- Use the Telico Sales Cockpit to manage contacts, opportunities, quotes, notes, tasks, and follow-ups
- Follow up consistently with customers throughout the review and sales process
- Coordinate with Telico’s billing, technical, and operations teams to confirm pricing, service availability, implementation requirements, and customer information
- Maintain accurate and organized records for every customer opportunity
- Help move opportunities from initial contact through analysis, quotation, demonstration, and closing
- Support existing customers who may benefit from updated pricing, additional features, or upgraded services
- Report on customer contacts, meetings booked, invoices reviewed, quotes issued, savings identified, and opportunities created
Qualifications
- Experience in B2B sales, sales support, customer service, account management, telecommunications, or technology services
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable contacting businesses and speaking with decision-makers
- Ability to ask effective discovery questions and understand customer requirements
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to review invoices, contracts, pricing, and service information with attention to detail
- Comfortable preparing quotes, comparisons, savings summaries, and basic business analyses
- Experience with CRM systems, quoting platforms, spreadsheets, or sales management tools is an asset
- Interest in telecommunications, VoIP, business phone systems, AI, and communication technology
- Ability to learn technical services and explain them in simple business language
- Professional phone etiquette and a customer-focused approach
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and follow-ups independently
- English proficiency is required; French or other languages are a strong asset
- Previous telecommunications or technology sales experience is preferred but not required

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
