Global J&C Manufacturing (Global) is seeking a Boring Mill Operator to join our Windsor manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up and operating the boring mill to machine precision components for custom automated equipment, working from blueprints and specifications to tight tolerances.
Reporting to the CNC Group Leader, you'll work closely with the machining, engineering, and quality teams to ensure parts meet spec the first time.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate the Doosan DBC 110 II boring mill to machine parts per blueprint and work order specifications
- Machine welded fabrications (weldments), accounting for distortion, warpage, and variation in stock material from the welding process
- Program, edit, and run CNC programs (Fanuc control) for the DBC 110 II
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T specifications
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for the material and operation
- Perform in-process and final quality checks using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, edge finders, etc.)
- Complete first-article inspections and document results per quality control plans
- Identify and troubleshoot machining issues, adjusting setup or program as needed
- Maintain the boring mill and surrounding work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues promptly
- Complete job documentation, including production and quality logs
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve part or process discrepancies
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures
- Other machining and production duties as required
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience operating a horizontal boring mill in a manufacturing/machine shop environment
- Experience with the horizontal boring mill strongly preferred
- Experience machining weldments/fabricated steel components, including locating and setup on non-uniform or distorted stock
- Strong blueprint and GD&T reading skills
- Proficiency with Fanuc CNC controls
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools
- Millwright, machinist, or tool & die certification/apprenticeship considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
