We’re hiring a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support a small portfolio of residential properties across Ottawa. This is a part-time, flexible role (20–30 hours/week) with consistent work, independence, and variety.
You’ll be working across a mix of new builds, lease-ups, townhomes, and older residential buildings located in:
- Westboro
- Bank Street corridor
- Carling Avenue
- Mechanicsville area
- Innes Rd
- And nearby Ottawa locations
What You’ll Do
This is a practical, hands-on role where you’ll be trusted to get things done.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- General in-suite maintenance (fixtures, toilets, minor plumbing, basic electrical)
- Unit turns (patch, paint, minor repairs, touch-ups)
- Replacing bulbs, filters, batteries, and hardware
- Responding to maintenance requests across multiple buildings
- Basic preventative maintenance and inspections
- Supporting smart locks, thermostats, and access systems
- Meeting and coordinating with contractors on-site
- Participating in a shared on-call rotation (with another technician)
- Assisting property managers with urgent maintenance and operational requests
- Helping maintain overall buildings safety, cleanliness, and presentation
What We’re Looking For
We’re open to two types of candidates:
1–3 years experience OR experienced tech looking for part-time work
You should be comfortable with:
- Basic residential maintenance and repair work
- Working independently without constant supervision
- Moving between multiple properties in a day
- Problem-solving on the fly and knowing when to escalate
- Adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Communicating professionally and respectfully with tenants, contractors, and staff
- Handling urgent or last-minute maintenance requests
Must have:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Basic tool skills and hands-on maintenance ability
- Strong reliability and communication
Nice to have:
- Experience with unit turns (paint/patch work)
- Exposure to HVAC basics or building systems
- Smart home / access control experience
- Multi-residential property experience
