The Service / Assembly Technician is responsible to assist with opening, closing, and quoting jobs for repair as required. In addition, the technician shall assist or lead repairs and assemblies in accordance with our Engineering and
Quality specifications. The Service / Assembly Technician is always looking for ways to improve process flow, reduce costs, improve department output, and improve customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and repair mechanical and hydraulic equipment (e.g., pumps, tanks) using hand and power tools.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
- Operate lifting equipment (cranes, hoists) safely to position components during setup and repair.
- Inspect machines, identify abnormalities, and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Use machine tools (lathes, grinders, milling machines) to fabricate or repair parts.
- Perform regular maintenance checks and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Follow safety policies and ergonomics best practices on the shop floor.
- Support 5S initiatives and contribute to a clean, organized, and continuously improving workspace.
- Assist in Shipping/Receiving: pick, pack, and process orders, receive goods, and manage inventory flow.
- Assist in Saw Cutting: measure and cut materials to size using saws and other tools.
- Embrace training and development to grow into a multi-skilled technician.
Experience:
- Mechanical aptitude with 2+ years of experience in assembly, repair, or a related trade.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, technical drawings and schematics.
- Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems is a strong asset.
- Forklift/crane certification is a plus—but we’ll help you get trained if not.
- Willingness to learn new skills and pitch in where needed.
- Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious, and a positive team player.
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
