Our daycare at Cityscape is looking for a Back of House (BOH) to join our amazing team!
This role supports our kitchen operations at Cityscape. In addition to kitchen support, responsibilities include housekeeping and general duties to help keep our centre running smoothly. This position will report to the Daycare Director.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Be familiar with and follow Summit’s Policies & Procedures at all times.

Prepare and serve snacks and meals on schedule and to Summit’s standards.

Review Allergies and Food Restrictions monthly to stay current with any updates.

Practice Allergy Awareness when preparing and plating all food items.

Clean up after snacks and meals, including preparation areas, classroom dishes and serving areas.

Communicate with the Food Services Manager regarding food orders and inventory needs.

Maintain accurate inventory using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) food rotation system.

Ensure food supply levels are sufficient for all children each day.

Inform the Daycare Director and classroom staff of any meal substitutions or changes.

Be knowledgeable about and adhere to Alberta Health Services regulations and requirements.

Carry out Back of House housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, mopping floors, taking out garbage, etc.

Assist with general housekeeping duties throughout the center to support other staff.

Manage daily laundry - from collection in classrooms to washing, drying, folding and putting it away.
Skills and Qualifications:

Positive, enthusiastic, flexible and reliable.

Ability to interact with a diverse, multicultural, multigenerational population.

Be comfortable working shift scheduled between 6 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Highly organized and efficient.

Detail-oriented.
-
Have or be willing to obtain Alberta ECE Level 1 certification.

Must be certified or working towards obtaining Standard Child Care and First Aid level C.

Must have or work towards a Food Safety Handling certificate, as approved by Alberta Health Services, within 2 weeks of employment.

Obtain a valid Police Information Check with a vulnerable sector search before start date.
Compensation Includes:

Wage of $18.50/hr.
