About the Role
We are a fast-growing scaffolding company seeking an experienced, high-energy Operations Manager to lead our day-to-day business lifecycle. This critical role bridges the gap between our office administration, yard logistics, and field crews. You will directly oversee our Administrative Assistant, Yard Staff, and Field Crews, ensuring that materials move seamlessly from our yard to the job site, safely and on time.
Key Responsibilities
● Team Leadership & Direct Management: Direct and mentor the Administrative Assistant to ensure flawless Avontus order entries, delivery ticket processing, and strict execution of our New Job SOP (including liability insurance tracking). Oversee yard and field personnel to maximize daily productivity.
● Logistics & Inventory Control: Collaborate closely with administration and yard staff to monitor scaffolding inventory levels within Avontus, coordinate accurate load lists, and completely eliminate delivery delays or material shortages.
● Fleet & Dispatch Management: Review vehicle inspection forms, manage the commercial fleet, and coordinate/sign off on required mechanical maintenance and insurance compliance.
● Safety & Compliance Enforcement: Serve as the ultimate defender of our safety culture. Ensure all field crews strictly complete hazard assessments and toolbox talks (TBTs) in Site Docs. Personally audit compliance records and address field pushback or missing paperwork.
● Project & Financial Efficiency: Review field crew progress photos via Google Drive to verify project timelines. Work alongside accounting to analyze material lists and pricing data on job cost spreadsheets to protect project margins.
What We Are Looking For
● Industry Experience: 5+ years of operational management experience specifically within the scaffolding or construction industry, with a proven track record of managing both yard assets and field labor.
● Tech Savvy: Strong familiarity with Avontus (or similar asset tracking software), Site Docs, Google Drive, and digital scheduling tools.
● Leadership Style: Exceptional communication and conflict-resolution skills. You are a fair but firm manager who takes total ownership of operational efficiency and field accountability.
● Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Recognized industry safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NCSO, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
